Each September, San Francisco's Golden Gate Park becomes the focal point for peace, music and activism at the POWER TO THE PEACEFUL festival. What began 11 years ago as a small rally at Dolores Park to raise awareness about the case of prisoner Mumia Abu Jamal has become a broader event focusing on peace, racism, animal rights and economic justice. This year's festival featured music by a host of artists including Alanis Morrisette doing an acoustic set, the legendary Sly & Robbie performing an hour set of classic 'riddims,' and of course - Michael Franti (the festival's founder) and Spearhead!
